Using expeditions and motivational speeches, Lewis Pugh calls world leaders and global society to action to protect the environment, preserve the peace and stop climate change. Lewis Pugh founded the Polar Defense Project to promote the protection of the polar regions in particular and has announced his next expedition at the third pole, Everest.

Ice in the polar regions is melting rapidly due to climate change, leading to impacts on billions of people and accelerating the rate of global warming.
